Pet News - the Good and the bad

The Good News
I may have a house/pet sitter for my trip to Perth.I mentioned my problem to Watson earlier tonight, and he said that he'd be prepared to do this for me. I need to get him to visit my place first, to check out the "vibes", and that will be next week sometime. I think I might do some real cleaning up this weekend!
If he does do this, it will be such a relief to know that the pets (and the house) will be in good hands.
The Bad News
I was late getting away from university tonight (see the previous post). I dropped into Jenn's to say that I couldn't make it tonight (I normally pop over to her place to watch Lost on a Thursday night). She was watching that dreadful Mel Gibson film about the Crucifiction. The first thing I noticed was that Rocky - her new pet kitten, wasn't there. All she'd say at first was "He's gone".
It seems that she let Rocky and Bobby (her pet dog) out to her "backyard" for a break, late Wednesday. When she went to let them back in, Bobby came in, but Rocky was gone! I'm absolutely astonished by this -- Rocky is only 8 weeks old, way too young to let out at all, and has only been at her place for just over two weeks. The "backyard" is a closed-in patio with clothes line and a gate. Bobby would have squeezed out under the gate to explore the outside. he's probably been picked up by someone in the neighbourhood. Initially, I was just so angry at hearing this - how could she! Later, I realised that maybe she doesn't have much knowledge of cats.
I didn't stay long, but before I drove off, I walked around her block and called "Rocky" softly. At one point I swear I heard a faint "meow", but then nothing. I got home, fed the pets, and then phoned Jenny. Tomorrow I intend to go to uni and print off some "missing cat" posters, and plaster them around the neighbourhood. I have photos of both Jenny and Rocky, and can put these on the posters. The wording will go like this:
HAVE YOU SEEN ME?

I'm the much beloved companion pet of my owner Jenny.
I'm only 8 weeks old, but already I've brought her so
much joy. Somehow I slipped away late last Wednesday
(the 8th), and now she's heart broken that I'm gone.
If you've seen me, or know where I am, please phone
Jenny on 4955 5964.
Thanks - I know that doing that would mean so much to her!
I've asked her to phone the RSPCA at both Wallsend and Eleanor Vale. I think we have an even chance of getting the little bugger back.
Why so optimistic? Because Pegasus, my dog, was stolen a few years ago (there was a witness, but they wouldn't come forward in court). I did the same things, preyed to Artemis and did some candle magic, and I got him back. That was after he and my then boarder's dog were dumped at Awaba, over 20 km away. But all through that period, I had absolute faith that would get him back, and I did. On the way home an image came into my head, of Rocky being reunited with Jenn. I hope it's so, and I'm going to do my best to make sure it is.
If we do get him back, she better be a damn more careful with him in the future!
