Saw my G.P. today to check the cat scan and chest x-ray from last week.

It seems that there's no anomalies with the cat scan (and for the moment I'll consider my attack the other week a result of passive dope inhalation), and my lungs are OK. However, the x-ray did show that there was some degree of deterioration with my spine (which according to my G.P. matched my age group). This might explain certain back pains I get in the morning. Being overweight doesn't help either.

Actually, I've been feeling a little down / depressed lately. Been letting some hygiene issues (i.e. frequency of showers/baths) slip, and been bothering less with my appearance. I'm going to need to improve on that.

Now I used to see my G.P. on a regular basis when I was really down, a few years a go - it helped. So I'm seeing him again in two weeks. I have some blood tests to do, and since my gynaecologist moved on last year (and vaguely promised a replacement, maybe), I haven't had anyone regularly monitoring my hormones. Never hurts to have stuff checked.

20 to 1

I have the TV on in the background, and tonight's "20 to 1" featured Hoaxes, Cheats and Liars (repeated from 2006).

Now the show's premise is a bit shonky in itself, because the choices are mostly based on media value of the selections picked. This is pretty much the case here, where no less than six entries relate to to TV shows (with at least three reality shows at that). In fact it features two reality shows that I watched in part - There's Something About Miriam and The Joe Schmo Show.

A rant about these shows )

I went to the university today, after visiting my G.P.

I went there mainly to photocopy some reference material for my web comic. Later though I went to NUSA and joined (as a post-grad) for a semester, and ordered a $10 veggie co-op for Wednesday.

While I was there, I got invited to the Woman's Collective for a meeting, which I attended. I also got invited to the BBQ tomorrow run by the Queer Collective. That starts at 6pm and the last bus leaves at 7pm, so if I go I'd be there for barely an hour. I want to go!

Not only that, but someone I gave a tarot reading for last year, wanted to return the favour, so I'll be getting a reading at 5pm just outside NUSA tomorrow as well. I also got invited to a meeting about mental health on campus on Friday, but considering that I have to go back on Thursday to pick up the veggie stuff, that'd be four days this week I'd have gone to uni - and I'm no longer a student!

Mind you, it's nice to be thought of, and invited/included in these activities. *GRIN*

I might yet go in the parade. Why? Because I met someone today who mentioned that there was going to be an Amnesty International entry in the 2007 march, which is organised by the LGBTQ Network.

I have a bit of chequered history with Amnesty International. About the most I've ever done is sell badges and buttons for them in the workplace (back in 1992), but due to a mix up I was hassled about returning the proceeds after I already had. However, one clerical error doesn't invalidate the whole movement.

Anyway, we'll see...
