Thoughts about House
Watched the season finale to House last Wednesday and had a few thoughts about it. Something that you may not know is that a 7th season (2009-2010) has been confirmed. This poses an interesting question then - how will Gregory House be in it?
See, at the end of the 6th season he's admitted to Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital due to a severe break with reality, with him hallucinating Amber and (for this episode) Kutner, and having fabricated an entire sequence with Cuddy. So if House is going in for Rehab, how can he be a practising doctor?
Wouldn't it be strange if House didn't have much of the main character on stage (I jokingly referred to the possibility to Kevin as 'Empty House')? Wouldn't be the first time that's happened. How about Taggart where the actor for the title role died in 1995 and is still being filmed? So, how will they write House out of this one?
Consider the fact the the last two cases in the series weren't actually solved by House himself but by his team while he was in absence. Theoretically they could continue to do that, while House is battling his way off vicodin. In fact, the first part of the next season might be House "solving cases" regarding the other inmates while the staff there attempt to treat him. You could well imagine House in a cubicle next to Hannibal Lecter!
Something I hadn't realised was that there's a chance of a House spin-off. Have to wait and see.
