Lazy Weekend
Dec. 3rd, 2006 09:23 pmApart From Kevin getting 2nd degree burns on Friday night, it's been a lazy cosy weekend.
Kevin was making a stir-fry using the gas burner and some hot oil got him on his bare feet. It was rather odd at the time, as I was half asleep. I was still pretty much half asleep later as well. For some reason Kevin didn't go to emergency until 2pm the day after. I drove him to John Hunter and picked him up a couple of hours later. He was worried that it was 3rd degree burns because he couldn't feel it, but apparently it was just deep burns instead. Go figure.
On the way back from hospital I bough a collection of "1001 computer games" from Dick Smiths for $10. I bought it nots so much for the games, but for the USB game controller that came with it. Why? Because I'd just re-discovered the joys of MAME and of playing games that I'd played in the late 70s and early 80s. I spent an awful lot of 20 cent pieces in Strombecker's (on Barrack St, Perth, but long gone now)and elsewhere in my youth on pinball and video games (like River Patrol, shown right)
Been an "off weekend" - not too much of a struggle, and it's been cold, wet and cosy. Oh, and Kevin's foot just needed some iodine and seaweed on it, and a few anti-biotics (which he's already on).
