Er, what?!

I taped an episode of Boston Legal and what I thought would be an episode of 30Rock. However, it turned out be The Most Hated Family in America, about a bizarre show about an inbred "Baptist" church that pickets military funerals with "God Hates fags" signs!

Are these folk demented? They seemed serious but it was almost impossible to take them seriously. I guess though, that in some places you can be a total fuckwit and get away with it.

Actually, after idiots on the bus today, I'm almost beginning to believe that's everywhere. I think maybe I've seen enough. Time for a hot bath instead.

Oh they are deadly serious. Fucking Morons.
I went to a funeral here in town of a military guy that they were protesting at. We managed to block about a mile around the family so there is no way they would have gotten through, but they didn't show up when they heard that about 5 thousand people were there to stop them.

is the biker group that is anti-protestors, or protectors of the families who've lost a loved one. A lot of them are former military, and a lot of them ONLY do these funerals, getting by on donations and probably their military retirement (I think about 30% of what they were making when they got out)

I'm glad then, that they don't have it all their own way.

Do they take civies?
Goddess, I'd love to kick Phelp's ass!

I'm sure they do, you'd have to check out their webpage for what all they are about though. I just know that I saw a lot with their old divisions as patches on their gear.

Sometimes the media attention they get is too friendly. And more often not. But funny.
They get what they deserve.

Gasp - the Chaser covered it?
I like there response better than Moore's.

It's too bad he didn't hit on Fred himself, but perhaps he has standards...

There's another Preacher Fred over here in New South Wales - Fred Nile - who was also a member of parliament for a while. Every Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras march he'd get his group together to prey for rain.

Another one who missed the whole point of Xtianity : /

What's just as bizarre is that they're not playing with a full deck -- following Jerry Falwell's death, the "church" condemned him to Hell for being supportive of gays. While some of us love to see Jerry in Hell, it would be because Jerry actually HATED gays -- a point that Fred and his ilk refused to believe. It seems that the "church" has an exclusive right to homophobia.

They're serious: I've been reading about them for years.
