Lesbos Court case Outcome

As I posted on [livejournal.com profile] queeraustralia, about the case of the islanders attempting to prevent the word "Lesbian" from being used for anyone who didn't live there - the islanders lost!

The key statement was:

...the court ruled that the word lesbian in its adopted Greek and international sexual context does not offend or threaten the individual, collective or human rights of the island's residents.

"The controversial words at stake should not be seen as an insult to an individual's personality, nationality or social standing, and should not be taken as an individual or collective insult the people of Lesbos," said Judge Maria Petsali.

Especially since the Island has been pronounced as "Lesvos" for mlonger than time the plaintiffs had alleged the word has been "taken over" by the Gay community.

Can you say "Frivolous lawsuit"? Sure you can.

I mentioned this a few days ago.
I especially like the:

“The word lesbian has been associated with gay women for the past few decades but we have been Lesbians for thousands of years,” he said.
