Mystery & Dream

I had a dream of kittens running through my house. There was a fuzzy grey one, a tortoiseshell one, and an an orange one.

When I woke up Mystery (one of my cats) was on the bed next to me, even though Sophie (a friend's giant pup I'm dog sitting until next Wednesday) was asleep on the floor below. Then Sophie noticed him and Mystery shot out through the door, with Sophie a slower 2nd. A little while later Mystery came in again, and this time did an exit before Sophie notice. It's good to see that cat, who has been in STEALTH for the last few days.

Return of the Cat

Well, MYSTRY's back home and mostly his old self.

He's missed a few times on jumping onto tables, which I put down to his still recovering . Had a rather spectacular fail on this on the kitchen table that spilled a bowl of dry food everywhere! An Xena and Gabby weren't sure what to make of his return - yet.

But I'm glad he's back. A photo tomorrow.

Dark Waters & Mystry

I saw the DARK WATERS episode od Dr Who for lunch today (taped the broadcast after RAGE last night). I must say that I enjoyed it thoroughly, but that I think certain things might be apparent only in next weeks concluding episode.

I just love the hysteria over this in certain quarters - the like of which I haven't seen since the impending release of MATRIX: REVOLUTIONS. Stay tuned!

Apart from lunch, it's been productive today, partly because of the cool weather. Much better than the horrible humid mess of the last two days!

Tomorrow is housework/shopping/pickup Mystry day.

update

Phoned the Vets earlier.

MYSTRY is doing "quite well", breathing better and sitting up. He's still being re-hydrated and on Hartmann's solution and non-solid food. Progressing well and I'm to phone late morning on Monday.

Back from the Vet's

Back from the vet's, back from shopping.

The vet found at least one TICK on Mystry, and was worried that he was very dehydrated. and could barely move We don't know how long Mystry was in that spot under the house - it could as long as SIX days. Anyway he gave me the choices and costs. Without treatment Mystry will die. With treatment (which includes admission for 2-3 days and the cost of an anti-tick serum) he has a chance, but that would cost between $50-$650 roughly.

Well, two things. First, right now I can afford this. Second, this is the anniversary of Pegasus's death and I'll be damned if I do nothing to save the poor puss! So he's in the vets for the weekend, and I'm to phone late tomorrow to see how he's doing.

Because I was already out, I went to Glendale and did some shopping. I had dinner at Raj's Corner, bought a big cooler on wheels (in case I need to defrost the fridge again) and then bought pet and human food to put in it , to take home. Odd thing happened at the bus stop - someone had left an old skateboard there, and I used it to help me get the cooler and food home.

An odd day today.

Found Mystry

Am taking Mystery - who'd been missing since last Friday - to the vet's later.

He was under house looking very ill. and not moving much. I searched for him before but the house is on piles and there's lots of rubble underneath and I missed him. But I had another look today and found him. Of course he might have been there ALL THAT TIME.  He's not taking any water and wheezing a lot.  I don't want him to die of course, but especially NOT TODAY because it's the anniversary of Pegasus death, six years ago. He was my best mate and I had him for 11 years.

Hopefully Mystery will recover. We'll see.

Mystery stalk

Heh - I was sitting out the back with the dogs and XENA after feeding the pets. When I got up I discovered that MYSTERY was crouching a metre away! Xena noticed this as well and followed him down the pathway. MYSTERY looks a lot like OSCAR next door, so maybe she was being sure. I put a flea collar on Mystery yesterday, and it's still on.

Cheeky puss that MYSTERY (and definitely male, as certain developments have shown)!
