Just logged on (to check a group) and read this on my main page:

Feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to help solve your problems. You need to be more positive and deal with matters that your aren't happy about in a more assertive way. If you aren't entirely satisfied with the way you are being treated either at home or at work, broach the issue with those who might help you change things. Get help where and when it is needed and those recently acquired bags under your eyes will soon disappear.
I have been kinda depressed lately, but it's a real hard time to climb out of that pit.

...because I'm in an evil dark mood.

What year was it?
1976 - I'd already dropped out of High school in 1974, and was working in G&R Wills, a warehouse.

What were your three favourite bands/musicians?
I didn't yet have any. I'd started collecting Yes and Hawkwind LPs.

What was your favourite outfit?
Searsucker shirts and bodgy trousers.

What was up with your hair?
Who gave a fuck about my hair back then?

Who were your best friends?
I was involved in a wargaming clique, and some of SF fandom - that was about it, oh, and Steveg. Earlier best friends, such as Arthur and Peter Caliga, had already moved on to other things.

What did you do after school?
Back when I was still at school, I hid in the library until it closed and then went home to a burnt tea. Otherwise, while at G&R Wills, I used to play pinball /video games at Kelly's Pool Hall or Strombeckers.

Did you take the bus?
Hated it, much preferred train travel.

Who did you have a crush on?
OK, I admit it - David Bowie.

Did you fight with your parents?
Not much - was bashed by my dad a few times.

Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?
See above.

Did you smoke cigarettes?
Tried once, and thought it was shit.

Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?
Nope - I'd already left half way through "fourth year" and never actually graduated from High school as such, though I now have a bachelor's in Visual Arts, and a Diploma in Library Science.

Did you have a 'clique'?
I hung around war games and SF fandom a lot. It was easy, because rules and counters are easier to cope with than real relationships and risk. And my involvement with fandom because a bitter-sweet disappointment.

Did you have "The Max" like Zach, Kelly, and Slater?
What the fuck are you talking about? Some American TV show no doubt..

Admit it, were you popular?
Nope. I was the antithesis of such.

Who did you want to be just like?
Somebody else, and I became as such (though not for a long time after).

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I swear, either a hairdresser, or an architect, and an SF/Fantasy author. Not dead yet, so you never know.

Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?
Six feet under.

I've had TripleJ on for the last hour or so. It's some sort of house/trance music show, and I've been thouroughly enjoying it. It's the sort of music I need right now - Manic and Obsessive.
