RLT-pt3-27 Revised by Laura Seabrook, on Flickr

This is possible revision format to part 3 of REAL LIFE TRIPS. The previous version was mostly text with illustrations and even a suggestion change of reducing the text (see this version) didn't make it much better. I like this, but it will be a lot of work if I go this way.

A possible revision to part 2 of Real Life Trips - ditching the colour but retaining the monotone. Also, the same thing for part 4:

Revised Colouring by Laura Seabrook, on Flickr

Something I worked on today, for Real Life Trips. The original was traced in and coloured in Illustrator. The revised uses my original line work in Clip Studio Paint and has been coloured and tones in that.

I need to make a few revision to the graphic novel, and this is what I'm thinking of doing.

The first just eliminates plain text at the bottom and changes the page size. The second just streamlines the text to reduce page count.

Roughs

One of the things I have been looking at is re-doing the graphic novel as six individual comics - each with its own trip/story, and page format. This is a mockup in Clip Studio Paint. It's not quite right, yet (needs to have space for the rhyming couplets).

Actually I'm looking forward to this because I can use my original artwork rather than an Illustrator autotrace, and colouring and tones will also be much better.

I dropped off copies of my graphic novel to Graduate Studies. This means I've done my research paper (exegesis) and my boy of work. I am so pleased about this!!!

More portraits by Laura Ess, on Flickr

I revised the introduction to the graphic novel. I added a couple of portraits to this page of the Introduction of Real Life Trips (the TEXT has been removed for clarity). The top one was drawn over two years ago using paper and gel pens. The bottom two were done this morning in Clip Studio paint.

Very close

After a bout of mild illness and procrastination I'm drawing again! It's a start. This is the counsellor "Mindy" in the last section of the graphic novel.

Thumbnail of my working in Illustrator on section 6 of REAL LIFE TRIPS - yes, lots of text interspersed with illos. Certain characters haven't been drawn yet, hence the gaps.

The last page of section 5 of Real Life Trips. A weird thing happened when I started working on this - I realised I needed a Section 6!
