The weekend was hectic and a little exhausting, but today was frustrating.

I spent most of the day working on mounting my prints for the exhibition. Or at least, trying to. There were technical problems in transferring my layouts from my PC to a form that I could read at uni. I left late and drove the car tothe BP at Glendale just to catch the bus in today.

I stuffed up the printing of the labels, though the library tech reprinted them correctly. However, the big bottleneck was that I couldn't get to my prints, as they were locked in a drawer in Fibre Art and no one found the key until 2:15pm. I only had my Supervisor between noon and 3pm, so I was stuck there without being able to do anything.

Worse than that, I stuffed up big time. Below are two versions of how I thought I might place my prints on the wall. The "Themed version" was the one I went for. However it happened that somehow I'd got the measurements mixed up and used 1.2 metres over what is available. That's what happens when I rush things, and don't get enough sleep (daylight saving came in on the w/e).

I have to redesign the layout for tomorrow, which is the only day I have left to mount the prints. I'll get it done, but really need a rest, which I won't get until Friday.

Also, I didn't take any pain killers this morning. I had to go begging at the uni medical service for some panadol. The nurse was OK with it, but my tooth was really hurting after eating a cold salad.

I went with Kevin to teh computer markets yesterday.

I ended up buying a 160 Gb hard disk for $80. My current PC can't use all of that - it "only" reads 120 Gb, but when I get a better motherboard it'll read the rest. I also bought a DVD burner for Jenn (and gave her my old 8 Gb hard drive) and USB keyboard and mouse, and graphics card for Kevin (for his $10 G4, which he got earlier in the week). All that leaves me with $16.95 until next Wednesday, but both Jenn and Kevin will pay me back this Wednesday.

There was a lot of tension when the graphics card wouldn't work in the G4, and the software supplied with the dongle wouldn't install on my my WIN98SE PC. However, today I've downloaded 90 mb of drivers for the thing, so Kevin should be able to download stuff for his mobile via my pc.

Anybody out there got a spare graphics card for a G4 that Kevin could have?

Maybe I should have left buying all this stuff until some other time, but the markets were on this weekend, and I thought it would be good to enable Jenn and Kevin to do stuff on their computers. Sometimes though, nothing works first time. Frustrating as shit, and it was a l-o-n-g day (again).

Been having a lot of those lately, but after this week there ought to be less deadlines to work to.

Forget to mention this, but last Tuesday I got a notice from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The letter was about the ammount of smoke my car blows. I was given until 8th November to have it fixed. Otherwise, if it gets reported after that date as being too smokey, I get a fine of $200. Great - just what I needed.

Mind you, there are two "benefits" of this. The first is, I can drive the car around with impunity 9as far as fines go) until that date, not worrying about her "farting ways". The second is, that I've been considering extending my mortagage to pay for some cladding on the house, a new (replacement) car and a few other things. It really would be easier (assuming I have the money) to get a replacement car, than to fix the Rauni. She also has a worn universal joint on the steering, and it really makes me nervous driving her for long periods.

I'm seeing my roolover fund manager on Wednesday. He's really good with financial advice, and I'll see what he thinks about the idea.

Came to a decision today - I've decided NOT to run a local Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Now I have been really keen to do so, but the truth is that I just don't have time, energy, or attitude to organise this this year. Too much on, too much to do, and I'm just not centred right now.

    * SIGH *

This is still important to me, but I'm just not up to it - this year. Next year however, is another matter. Things won't be so hectic as they are right now, and I can organise an event properly.

Also, I am still participating in the 2006 Day of Remembrance Web Comic Project. Despite that fact that I haven't updated my web comic in over two weeks, this WILL HAPPEN. I can do more than one day's worth each day in backdated strips, after Wednesday, and get back on target.

That I will do!!!
