The Dr Who Club of Australia has organised an online Dr Who Survey. I've completed it, it was sort of fun.

I got my lawnmower fixed today.

Haven't tested it properly yet, but I'm sure it'll work. I'd been meaning to take it back to the guy I bought it from (Stan, who looks an awful lot like granddad Seabrook, who's been dead for over 20 years, and was also very clever with machines) for the last two weeks. Every time I phoned however, there wasn't an answer (which I found out, was because he was always 'out the back').

Actually, it was fun. He was working on someone else's mower when I got there, and a third person turned up while he was working on mine. I chatted with the two guys that were there, and they had all sorts of anecdotes about Canadian mowers and two-strokes.

I had the feeling that reconditioning and re-selling mowers wasn't just a way of getting extra income, it was also very much a way that he connected socially with lots of people. Anyway, Stan fixed it, and showed me what to look for when it didn't run again (and apparently plastic containers are better than metal for storing two-stroke fuel).

More power to Stan for doing so.

This has been a day for Ebony meeting my other cats.

She's discovered a way into the front yard, and has been exploring that for a bit. I was worried for a bit that she might get run over, but then, she didn't when she was out and about over at Jenn's.

Anyway, this morning Gabby picked a fight with her in the lounge room, and Ebs ran off to the front room before I grabbed the water pistol and shot Gabby in the bum with it (she was not impressed). Later, I took her out the back and put her on the catwalk on top of the old duck pen, to see what she'd do. Ebs explored a bit, and then Xena came over the fence, to avoid one of my neighbours. She didn't immediately notice Ebs, but when she did, Ebs had all her attention.

When Ebony came back up, Xena was hidden at the corner of the other duck pen, and started hissing. Pegasus, who was on the couch with me (yes, I have an old sofa parked under the trees in the back yard) jumped off and then ran over to break up the fight. Ebs ran off while Xena just had a bemused look on her face (she's long since stopped running from Peggy). Ebs came back a few minutes later and doubled around the back of the duck pen, and then ran playfully past Xena to back under the house.

Not bad for one day's bit of exploring - you can tell I dote on my pets, can't you?

Get Up?

I saw a link to getup.org  in [profile] curlygrrrl's journal and followed it.

Not sure what to make of this. I support at least four of the campaigns listed, but am uncertain about the sincerity of the campaigns.
