After seeing the following...

...on a friend's post, I needed to write a reply using a term "Message from Fred" which I'd heard years ago in fandom and read in an article (and which I photocopied). Do you think I could find the copy? After a fruitless search using that term, I decided to switch tactics and look for SF writing terms. I found at least a couple of interesting sites on this (if you know of more, please make a comment):

...where I found the following:

  • Signal from Fred
A comic form of the "Dischism" in which the author's subconscious, alarmed by the poor quality of the work, makes unwitting critical comments: "This doesn't make sense." "This is really boring." "This sounds like a bad movie." (Attr. Damon Knight)

...of course in the video, it's obviously the writer of the piece saying  the comments about the previous Doctor, and using the current Doctor's mouth to do so.

  1. Tell you why I befriended you (or befriended you back).
  2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
  3. Tell you something I like about you.
  4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
  5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
  6. Tell you my favourite user pic of yours.
  7. In return, you must post this in your LJ.

Comment, and I will comment back with the name of the fictional character (picture if you're lucky) that most reminds me of you. Then post the same in your journal and join in the fun!
