Every time I hear this on the radio, I find it hauntingly appealing:

...however, it's been extremely hard to find a decent video version online. Most are live recordings where the sound is awfully clipped. Fitzroy Burning Down is obviously taken from the CD, but it's only a minute long!

What is it?

The Challenge is to create a comic in 24 hours, in whatever medium you're comfortable in. Use ink, computer graphics, paint, magazine photos, crayons; use paper, bristol board, wacom tablets - it doesn't matter.

What's it like?

Every year we have around 60-80 participants and some absolutely amazing stories keep coming out of the challenge. No. Seriously. Have a look for yourself! The site hosting the challenge (Pulp Faction) takes in anywhere from 170,000 to 200,000 page hits during the challenge period every year (sponsors, that means your banners were viewed approximately 22,000+ times during a normal event)! We hope this year's event will be even bigger.

How do I join in?

Whether you're in Australia or just wish you were, join us for the 24 Hour comics challenge Sat-Mon, Queen's birthday weekend (all times AEST - Australian Easter Time). Registration is open, but please sign up at the forums, hosted by Pulp Faction, at http://pulpfaction.net, before you register for the challenge. You need a forum account to participate and if you just want to watch, be sure to sign up so you can comment and cheer the participants on.

This event takes place THIS WEEKEND. You can see the results for previous events at the Pulpfaction forums. Well, I've joined up. Will you (go here to register)?
