Thoughts about Life on Mars

I watched the series finale of the American version of Life on Mars today. Hmmm, interesting...

The origins of the UK version seem to be firmly rooted in The Sweeney - a show I watched a lot of back in the 70s.  Gene Hunt is very much in the same mould as Jack Regen but Sam is no George Carter, being too much of a SNAG. In truth though in the UK version  Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister) was the only character that seemed to have much charisma. In the USA version, I watched mostly because I like both Harvey Keitel and Jason O'Mara and although the stories were predictable, they were also enjoyable.
