NZ Earthquake

Finished watching an episode of farscape and flicked over to TV - big news about an earthquake in New Zealand.

My frien Cathy lives not far away. I rushed on the PC to send her an email and discovered she'd sent one first. She's OK, but her back garden is wrecked where a wall fall over. Her garage door was opened when her car (in first ear) walked itself forward by 6 inches. Power and water off in many areas. Luckily Cathy's a bit of a survivalist so she has her own generator to keep going when she needs power.

Showing up is half the battle

Finally got to read chapter 10 of Artist's Way. A passage really got to me. It reads:

Julia Cameron, on page 175 wrote:

Be willing to paint or write badly while your ego yelps resistance. Your bad writing may be the syntactical breakdown necessary for a shift in your style. Your lousy painting may be pointing you in a new direction. Art needs time to incubate, to sprawl a little, to be ungainly and misshapen and finally emerge as itself. The ego hates this fact. The ego wants instant gratification and the addictive hit of an acknowledged win. This need to win -- now! -- is a need to win approval from others. As an antidote, we must learn to approve of ourselves. Showing up for the work is the win that matters. (my emphasis)

Procrastination has been my enemy in this, because...

...I fail to show up! Far better to do my flawed art and writing, than not at all.

Dummy is an extra avatar I use as an extra. The Bees were some characters from previous characters, who have less than perfect domestic relationship.

Boffins from another metaverse who are friendly to the main characters, or are they?
