Catching Fire
Feb. 10th, 2014 02:06 pmLast night I finished listening to the CATCHING FIRE audio book (#2 in the Hunger Games trilogy). Like the the 1st novel (which I read the week before) there's lots of extra details that never made it into he film. The written story is not bad, and in both cases does something that the first two films didn't - establish a sense of HUNGER on the part of the main character, and just how scarce food is for everybody in most of the regions other than the Capital.

Am debating if I should go out and read/listen to MOCKINGJAY before the film comes out (probably a year away at least). I enjoyed reading the first book, but not so much listening to the second. The voice actor was OK (read by Carolyn McCormick) but Katniss came across much more as an hysterical teenager who knew a lot was mostly clueless about what was going on in front of her.
