The Damage

When I got home today there was a letter from the Police.
Inside were two infringement notices - one for "Use of uninsured motor vehicle" and the other for "use of unregistered motor vehicle" - each was a fine of $461, meaning that I got fined a total of $922.
There are two ways listed (for each fine) that I can deal with the matter: a) choose a payment option (part payment not accepted); and b) by the individual named (me) having the matter heard at court. Well, I just don't have the money to pay both fines, and no realistic expectation of raising it either. I could get an advance from Centrelink for $500 in April (last years paid for panel beating from an accident I can't remember) but that's not nearly enough for both.
miss_judith gave me some advice (thanks!
), which is to choose option B and arrange weekly payments and/or community service. Sounds like good advice to me.
So it goes, and it's all my own fault. Can I get any stupider?
