Dithering over a DVD Player

I'm looking at getting a Sansui set top box & dvd player (San4350), which looks like:
K-Mart in Glendale have a display model on special for $99 (and non-special ones for $119). While I have a set top box and a (increasingly flaky) dvd player this is not of great urgency, but this one reads USB and memory cards as well as playing DivX. The only information I could find about it was on this forum.
Very very tempting to go and buy it today. If I don't, I could put the money to a media centre. Kevin says he could build one for $300-$400 with a low level CPU (no fan noise) using Linux. The advantage of that would be that DivX and USB would be part of it anyway, and I could also watch stuff streamed on the net directly. That last one is more important now that the ABC has added several net TV channels.
Mmmm, probably better to save up and get that.
