I've been watching my way through Northern Exposure, one episode at a time, in sequence (just like I have with Buffy, Angel and Babylon 5). The local library has all six seasons of it, and although sometimes I've had to wait a little while for the next set, it's been worth it. I find watching a series like this (with maybe 1-2 episodes a day) very calming for me.
Anyway, just watched Jaws of Life from season five. The McGuffins of the episode are Maurice getting a wax replica of himself, Chris discovering that he might live after 40, and a visit to the town of a travelling dentist. It was all about aging and what we expect of ourselves (seems to be a theme for the season), but the dentist but hit home for me.
In general, I just don't brush my teeth. Cant say why. When I lived with other people I did, but the routine of brushing my teeth just got lost otherwise. But after 7 teeth out in the last few years, I really need to change that. When I was going to the ACT group as an exercise I set a goal of brushing them at least every second day and for a week I did. But I need to think about values and goals (that'll be another post) and make that an ongoing goal.
