Fair Day 2006

Went down to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Fair Day today.
I drove down to Fassifern and caught the train at 11;00 am to Central Station, then walked up to Victoria Park (got there just after 1 pm). It was a bloody hot day and I was glad that I'd bought a bottle of Iced Tea the day before and frozen it in the fridge. By the time I got there, it was still chilled, and kept me going for a while.
There was a whole pets section in one corner, and rows and rows of stalls. I found the Gender Centre, QC and Bi stalls (all within 4 stalls of each other. I also checked out the Mental Health, Broom Closet, and a number of other stalls. I was given a free show bag, and munged heaps of pamphlets and stuff to put in it. I also picked up a "gayday" fan which they were handing out. Just as well as there was not that much breeze.
I also attended a QC committee meeting. Main thing that happened was agreeing to the rules of incorporation. Soon after I happened ion the Bi stall and mentioned that there was a "Bi-Pagan" entry in the parade next month. Seems I just missed the organiser, and despite having a description of "blonde with a yellow t-shirt" and that she was organising a "fairy-wings workshop", I couldn't find her. It was just too large, and I too late in the day. I decided to go home.
I did, after buying a 2 litre carton of orange juice, and having a 6" roll at Subway. I'd guzzled the whole carton of juice before getting back to Central. I also came across a model of a student flat on the way to the station. Seems pretty small to me. And why not have it on one level instead of two? The spiral staircase looks awfully unsafe.\
Fell asleep on the train back. Got to Fassifern about 8:30pm. Then I had trouble with the car. I'd used a back road to drive to Fassifern, but she just didn't have enough power to get up a hill I'd driven down earlier. I tried twice to get up it, and then drove the long way home on (mostly) flat series of roads.
When I got back I found Peggy was out on the street. Sure enough, I found a new patch in the fence with next doors, so my guess is that he got lonely and went next door through a hole in the fence, and then they let him out on the street. Probably hear about it tomorrow, but the bottom line is that it's the guy next door's responsibility to keep that part of the fence in good condition.
Anyway, a good day
