Canna intrat today

It's Canna intrat today, first day of the ancient festival cycle of the Great Mother. On this day, the brotherhood of cannophori went into procession through the streets, carrying reeds cut from the banks of the Almo. This was the beginning of nine days of penitence when people abstained from bread, pomegranates, quinces, pork, and fish. Milk was mainly drunk instead.

I don't think I'll quite be doing that this time around. As a lactose intolerant person, only drinking milk would be ill advised. Not going into uni today. Need to sort some things out (in addition to getting some medical tests done), and this is the day to do it.
