Trip Update

Well, I've been having a grand old time since I reached Central Gallae House.
Plenty of people turned up over the week end, and each day we had rituals - first the cannat intrat, and then the cannat arbor (I was the tree bearer). Cathryn is a really great person to talk with. She's led an interesting and varied life, and Gallae House here is very much a "work in progress". Met Susan and thanked her for getting me here. Met: another Susan; Julia; Rusty; Chelsea (from Brooklyn); Helen; Beth; Amanda; Felicity and Randy (from Woodstock).
Watched some interesting films at night, too (and three Firefly episoes I've never seen).
Snow has started falling here, but it looks like dandruff and sits in small patches. Sometime in the week Chelsea and I might be driven to a local scenic site for bush walk. Palenville seems like a very quiet rural quarter. The fire brigade alarm just rang out, but that reminds me of Barnsley. Accross the road is a "pub", something I wasn't expecting outside of Australia (I thought they were all bars in the USA), and we've seen (from the dining room) more than one driver get pulled over for speeding. Takes a bit of getting use to people driving on the "right" side of the road, especially when you're crossing it.
I ws right about coming here. This is the right place for me to be at the right time. Mother has sent me here with good reason. For once that lonely corner in my heart isn't aching.
