No, not talking about SF concepts but the phones.

Playing around with the new phone this morning I can see that a lot of things seems a lot easier than on the old Samsung (or whatever I had before). And yet some things seem intentionally misleading. For example I hadn't realised that Apps stay active until you close them - even if you've turned the phone off and later on. Hence my surprise when I turned it on this morning and Facebook was running! Intermittent updates about trivial stuff is what drives me nuts, and also wouldn't that burn up my prepaids without me knowing? Have to careful how I use this.

But the other thing is, no stupid tiny keys for my fingers to stumble over. Rather, the virtual keyboard seems like something out of Next Gen or Voyager but the thing is I can turn it sideways and get BIGGER keys. Oddly, with the 7" ALDI Tablet I tried last month I could do that as well, but that tablet seemed to be a lot slower than this phone, and I kept missing the keys on it! I make mistakes on this phone, but they seem easier to correct.

The music player on it seems more capable that what I've been using, but I've yet to find out how to add the list of Apps that seem built in, like the FM radio. Have found how to add Widgets (like the music player), but not the other Apps that don't seem to have widgets. Android apparently is built around a Linux Kernel with a Java wrapper. Seems a might more friendly, but I think I'll have to move slowly with this.

So far a huge plus is that I can hook directly into Google Calendar, which is where I schedule stuff at home. That will make some things a lot easier. Likewise access to Google Maps, and probably the infoline trip planner. But when it comes to Apps do I really want things like Angry Birds? I can see myself play these things at bus stops and burning up lots of credit if I'm not careful
