Went to Jenny's today and watched a lot of video while I tried to install and extra hard drive on her PC. Didn't achieve that worse luck. Anyway coming home I got a flat tyre just around the corner.
I pulled the jack, gear and spare out of the back of the car, but I couldn't budge the car. I was about to walk back to Jenn's to phone the NRMA when a good Samaritan pulled over in his four-wheel drive and helped me out. Not only did he change the tyre, but showed me tips for when I might need to do it again.
That was a relief, though I don't now have a spare tyre, so I'm going to have to be careful. One thing - the good Sammy (I never caught his name) said that "bad things come in threes" - even if that's the case, after engine trouble and accidents, this makes # 3. Whew!
