Travel Steps (B)
Mar. 14th, 2006 09:29 amOK, starting the next step now. I went next door and told them that I'll be away for two weeks, and they'll keep an eye on the place. I went across the road and asked the woman there if she'd feed my cats while I was away. She will! I thought she might, because how she treats her own cats. That means I don't have to board them.
That leaves Pegasus. I do have an offer from Cerulean who lives up in Dungog, to look after Peggy with her dogs and horses (thank you), but with my car in the condition it's in, I can't get there. Would anyone be able to drive me there? If that doesn't work out, There's also the guy who walks Kara and lives in Barnsley. I have his address, and he did offer to look after Peggy, but two weeks might be a bit long! Kennels cost about $15 a day (about $270 total) and they need a vaccination certificate. He has had his shots, but I don't think I have a certificate.
If I can get Pegasus safely looked after, I can secure the house. I know I'll be there in Palenville, I can see it so clearly, and have for a long time. I know this will be sorted out by the end of the day, but not yet how.

Earlier, I checked out the guy that lived in Barnsley's place - it had fences all around, but big gaps under them, and was right on the main round. I could just see Peggy running out and getting run over. No this time around.
This is a weight off my mind, a BIG weight. I know I'm really going now tomorrow, really going!
THANK YOU JUDITH, and THANK YOU EVERYONE ELSE WHO ALSO OFFERED TO DRIVE ME TO DUNGOG.
Arts Travel Scholarship Application
Mar. 14th, 2006 05:34 pmWhew - what a busy day!
I've been chasing loose ends one by one. Peggy is taken care off. I also paid the rest of the installments this month on my student loan; made contact with the insurance company about paying of the repairs due to the "accident"; visited Jenny; sent my supervisor and Honours Coordinator e-mails about the trip; bought pet food and hormones (for me, not the pets); and finished the cover note on my Arts Travel Scholarship Application.
You'll see a copy of the last one, over at Rainbow's End. It's rushed, but has passion, and I understand that is also important. Don't know if I'll get the scholarship or not, but it's done!
