Annoying Breakfast & L-o-o-o-ng Day
Nov. 27th, 2006 09:17 amI normally have breakfast between 6-8am. Yesterday however yesterday I didn't eat anything until about 11am. I went to an alumni luncheon with people from my old library class (we have these once a month) only this time it was breakfast.
Made a big mistake and actually went to it, after working on my web comics until 2:30am the night before. Didn't wake up until 7:30, and after feeding the pets realised that there was no way I could make the 8:16am train at Teralba, or the 8:08am bus from Barnsley. After a little indecisiveness I decided to go anyway. I drove to Glendale and caught the 363 bus into town. After travelling/waiting for 90 minutes, I got there over an hour late.
I had an overpriced unsatisfactory breakfast at a place where I can barely hear anything because of background noise and at which half the people whom I was to dine with, left shortly after I arrived. Not happy. I did spend some time talking with Sally, who I haven't seen for a while. She showed me the new house she's in, with all it's busted cabinet doors and other problems (it was built by a Polish guy who'd been in WWII, and has an "escape hatch" in the floor of a clothes cupboard!
Afterwards I window shopped at Stocklands in Jesmond and later at Glendale. Bought a 17w soldering iron for some needed repairs. Didn't get home until 4:30pm. Most of the time was spent just standing around trying to think. I needed more sleep, obviously.
Won't be going to any more breakfasts like that unless I have a fully legal and working car.
