I had a busy and odd day yesterday.

I had to go and take down my exhibition at uni, and later see my dietician at 2pm. Didn't get away until 11am. Went with [livejournal.com profile] mycosys on the bus 'til Glendale (he was travelling on to Toronto to have a tooth out) and then onto Wallsend. Did some library stuff and then got to the uni, about 1pm.

Had a quick lunch, then got my prints down (and placed carefully in a large folder) and travelled on the bus as close as I could to Wallsend Hospital, which was only Blue Gum Rd, and then forced-march to jenn's, where I dropped the prints and raced off the appointment.

Turns out I'd lost 2 kg in the last 6 weeks, and am now down to 118 kg. Still need to do more exercise on a regular and daily basis. Just cleaning up the house and lawn mowing (the 2 stroke has a blade missing) isn't helping that much. Afterwards I returned to jenn's where I fell asleep on her couch watching a DVD of The Munsters. Then I caught a couple of buses home.

Fortunately I didn't march home the last 500 metres (and I'd walked maybe 10 meters to them) as I'd driven the car to the bus stop earlier (for Kevin as much as me). When I got back i discovered that Kevin was very under the weather. It transpired that he couldn't make a bus that connected on time for his appointment, so it had to be postponed until Thursday. There were also troubles with computers and other factors, but that's Kevin's place to tell you about them in his journal.

Last night i watched an anime DVD called A Spirit of Wonder. This has both a whimsical tale about fantastic science and the exuberance of space exploration, and a couple of shorts, also about weird science with a tavern keeper called "China". (and saw a preview of what looked like a cool series called Planetes).

This morning I had a backpack full of library books, and walked an extra 500 metres to a bus stop. gasp - anything for exercise.

I've been "hunt & pecking" for various bits of information for my current web comic Tales of the Galli, which is set in the late Roman Empire (circa 310-20 CE), and features two characters who come from Britannia.

Well, I just found some really interesting (at least, if you're into History and the Roman Empire. They are Roman-Britain.ORG, LEGION XXIV MEDIA ATLANTIA (a Roman Army re-creation group - check out the "Star Wars" and "BattleStar Galactica" pages!), and Forum Romanum.

Drool - source material (though mostly drawing reference)!
