I've started, I've actually started on the proposal.
This was after a row with Kevin this morning over the fact that my drinking chocolate tin mysterious turned up up in the sink in a pot full of water. I have been very stressed over this, and having aunty Glennis die this weekend hasn't helped (neither was the fact that al of a sudden there's a mountain of washing up sitting in the kitchen).
But I started. Of course I've got to do a lit review, list theoretical orientation, propose a methodology, timetable and chapter outlines. The official idea is now:
Statement of Topic
This is an investigation into the role static and dynamic electronic/digital art and emerging virtual technologies such as Second Life in the lives of those undergoing gender transition.
Aims of the thesis/dissertation
What influence does such have upon a person's self image, before, during and after gender transition? How does the ability to project an image of oneself into a virtual environment affect the behaviour and aspirations of those undergoing gender transition in relation to their own self image, and compared to those not undergoing gender transition?
