My Aunty Glennis died yesterday in her sleep.

I'll miss her.

I was down at Wallsend Library checking out DVDs on Friday, and decided to borrow U2 18Singles and Dream Theatre Live at the Budokan.

U2 I can take or leave (with the exception of their 'Beautiful Day' which has become one of my 'signature songs', and just happens to be on the DVD). Dream Theatre I'd never heard of until now. Today I've been drawing comics - 3 pages of Tales of the Galli and 2 of Stuff Happens, and needed some "busy music" on in the background. I struck gold here.

Dream Theatre - Pull Me Under

My first reaction to the music was "this is what Yes should have developed into". Now Yes is a prog rock band and one I was rather keen on in the late 70s (as well as Hawkwind, Magma and others). Just looked up the Wikipedia, and sure enough, it describes the group as an American progressive metal band. Aha!

What's progressive rick? Mostly overproduced and nuanced stuff, but I rather like it.
