Trekker Frustration

OK, I'm a long term Trek fan. Getting a little impatient about the next film, which follows the original characters from the academy. If you go to the official website, you will see the trailer that's been out for ages, and a selection of photos like this:

But that's about it. A little nervous about what they might do with the material. I love old Trek even with all it's flaws. Will it be "ruined" or worse yet "updated. Hollywood seems to be undergoing a period where it's remaking and recycling proven hits. Bond has been restarted and there's talk of TV series remake of The Prisoner. Of course the director also did "Lost"  and Cloverfield (and you might remember how that got me in a frenzy).

Gasp - how am I going to wait until May next year.
