Bugger. Jenn wants to see her old dog Bobby.

I'm happy to take him in for a visit, but her step-dad refuses to drive him there and Kevin's girlfriend is away for a week or so. I might be able to get him there on a bus in the cat carrier I have (he's only slightly  larger than they are), but it's been bloody hot lately and while I can get him Sugar Valley, I probably won't be able to on the Government buses.

In fact a round bus trip would be 90 minutes each way at least. Not good for a little silky. I'll go in and see Jenn tomorrow and see what can be done. There was a Homecare worker who said she'd take him in, but I don't have a contact for her. Maybe Jenn does.

I just had a call from a telemarketer for an insurance company. Apparently my bank suggested they give me a call (ratbags!).

Anyway, she was explaining away all the coverage and benefits, and said "...and there's an extra bonus of $25,000 if you die from a terminal illness diagnosed after the policy begins". I waited a bit and asked "What if you're diagnosed before the policy?" She rattled on with other details and came back to this later. "I'm sorry" she said, "but if you're diagnosed with a terminal disease before the policy then there's no pay out".

To which I said (and of course I don't suffer from this) "So if I've been battling cancer and this is the third time around, I'd get nothing?" There was a pause and she said (in a dejected voice) "Uh, no, sorry, you wouldn't be covered" to which I said "I think I'll pass" and hung up.

Been a long time since I felt like fucking with these people, but I enjoyed the moment thoroughly (and to any friends who are battling cancer, more power to you!)

LJ Renewal

Just renewed my paid account here for 2 more months via pay pal. It only costs $US 5 but with the recession being what it is, that's $AU 7.59. I've come to like the extra icons (and no advertising) with the paid account but I ought to do it properly some time.

And I do use LJ a lot. Facebook is fun (and the Scrabble app is why I'm still using that) but I like writing, and using LJ despite its flaws.
