Dog walking in the dark
Feb. 26th, 2011 10:54 amWoke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Tried to, but just couldn't. Eventually I tried walking Bobby at 5:30 but that was problematic due to the light - it was very pre-dawn, and I thought I'd walk us out the back gate first instead of straight up the street. Had to feed the cats Gabby and Xena first on the way. And then when Bobby and I were looking for the gap in the barb-wire fence of the horse paddock that we use, Xena came purring up for a pat.
That was OK, and I gave her one. Minutes later when we were walking through the BMX area (in the cloudy light of a quarter moon) behind that horse paddock, we sort of lost each other. Rather I walked ahead, and Bobby (not on a lead) must have stayed behind scratching. I spent a number of puzzling minutes trying to find him again. Instead, Xena found me again, and I gave her a good long cuddle. Then finally Bobby found me and we cut over to the park and the main road. The rest of the walk was uneventful though extremely quiet. Got home about 6:30, had breakfast and (becuase I was feeling dizzy) went back to bed.
Had the weirdest dreams of stop motion and black holes and woke up at 10:14. Whoa, what a strange morning! What was I thinking?
My feet hurt (and my sinuses are playing up, so I'm staying home today doing not much at all.
