Queer Stuff without GIMP

Updated a couple more pages of Queer Stuff tonight.
I started out using the gimp to scan it, and set up layers (only, however, after Kevin figured out how to get the scanner working in Linux) but got very frustrated in using GIMP after being familiar with Paint Shop Pro. It wasn't so much the windows that disappear when you click on the image you're editing, but what was missing (like resizing the brush size on the fly).
Sigh well it is slightly better than Pixia (which is cute and quirky) - I mean it has lots of filters and scripts (but no easy way of recording them), and... ...nah, back to Paint Shop Pro + Fireworks (I'll fiddle around with GIMP later).
