I just discovered the official homepage of The Perishers! I haven't read a new strip of this for over 40 years (showing my age, ain't I?)!

My mum would bring stuff home from the fairs and jumble sales and "white elephant stalls" she go to. Mostly it was cheap black and white reprints of overseas comics with their cover ripped off (which meant that they were discards), but sometimes it's be collected editions of The Daily Mirror, which was kind of odd because that's a British, not Australian tabloid.

I used to read all the strips, including The Perishers and Garth. Ah, ain't nostalgia sweet.

I ran across your web-comics through a like on a site (which site, i don't remember) and i saw your name, or specifically your last name. other than my own family, you are the first Seabrook (with out the 'e' on the end) that I have ever met on line. You may not wanna answer any questions, and I don't blame you, but I'm just curious how long you or your family/ancestors have lived in Australia. I live in Canada, but i'm only the forth generation of Seabrooks that has lived here, and my great grand parents came over from England.

i'm a bit of a geneology nut... i kinda like to know where i came from, and where i have "family" (albeit a long way removed from my branch on the family tree).

Granddad Ronald Seabrook came from a small village in the South of Wales called Maestaeg (http://www.search2info.net/?x=&Directory=/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Wales/Bridgend_County_Borough/Maesteg/). The other side of the family, the Dunnings, came from Scotland, but a few generations back.

My whole family loved The Perishers growing up, my mother will still say "vroom, vroom, Marlon" when somebody drives by her house fast and loud :)
