Considering some of the funny poses I catch my cats in (and the occasional look on Yonja's face) I think it has a lot to do with the ubiquitousness of the camera phone attached to the left hand of many younger people today.
But then, I'm just an old fuddy-duddy who thinks a phone is useful to actually talk to other people with
Goody, making like her legs are giving her jip *evil grin*
The pizza cats appear to be poised to spring to me, especially the one on the left. The fact that they're on the boxes at all really makes the bottles on the right an unnecessary clue as to why, possibly.
The other cat fascinate'. I'm voting for masterwork of taxidermic arts, lovingly preserved for all eternity in someone's private hell, myself. On the other hand (thinking about it), she could be blind in one or both eyes, or have a spinal deformity.
The word that comes to mind is a rebus, actually: half cat and half bulldog, or Komodo dragon.
