It was funny today on the bus.
This morning going to uni I answered a survey for the bus company - where I usually travelled, what I used the bus for, how would I like it changed - that sort of thing. It was a full bus for a Tuesday morning, and it was interesting listening to the other passenger's answers.
"What do you use the bus for" asked the staff member doing the survey, pausing before saying a list of options (like Shopping / Entertainment / Education). Before he could say the list the passenger answered "Transport!" Um, er, of course!
I got off at Glendale, mainly short of the $2.50 I needed for an all day ticket. I then caught a "101" bus to the uni. That was odd too. I heard the following behind me while I tried to read my book:
"Could I read your paper"
"No."
"I only want to read one section"
"Shoulda bought one"
"I forgot"
"Tough".
Someone got out of the bed the wrong way. It beat last weeks conversation though, which was between a Newcastle Knights supporter and the bus driver (who appeared to support "The Sharks"). She screeched at the bus driver like someone shouting into a mobile phone, for a whole 20 minutes - "BUT THE SHARKS WON'T 'AVE A CHANCE, HA HA HA HA!" - argh!!!
Coming home I had an odd conversation with an older woman who lives in Edgeworth. I have no idea what her name is, but we've chatted before. Then, on the bus, she says "remember what we were just talking about and we'll pick up on that next time". Bet we won't.
Been a funny day on the buses, but that fits the rest of the day, which was spend mostly at uni and in the library.
