Final Destination

Watched Final Destination earlier today. Something I picked up on, was the naming of the characters. One of the main characters is called Val Lewton. Having watched the original Cat People, I knew that was the name of the producer of that horror film. Did a bit of checking and sure enough, a lot of the character names are taken from horror film people. The IMDB trivia page states:
Most characters in the film are named after directors or stars from black and white horror movies: Chaney (Lon Chaney); Waggner (director George Waggner); Browning (famous "Dracula" director Tod Browning); Larry Murnau, (after F.W. Murnau, director of the "first" Dracula film Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922)); Schreck (Max Schreck also starred in "Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens"); Valerie Lewton (Val Lewton produced several famous horror movies); Agent Wiene (Robert Wiene directed Cabinet des Dr. Caligari., Das (1920)); Billy Hitchcock, whose name pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock.
But I found even more connections with real people and films. There is:
Bill Hitchcock - Director, Producer, Writer, &
Bill Hitchcock - actor
As well as George Waggner Director, Writer, Producer, Soundtrack, Actor, Miscellaneous Crew, Music Department, Composer, there's also...
George Waggner - producer,
George Waggner - composer
George Waggner - actor / writer / editor
They may all be the same person, but if so he's extremely productive!
Todd Waggner - Producer, Actor, Self - TVMurnau is also character in 'Shadow of the Vampire' which is a fictional reconstruction of the making of the above mentioned film, which was also made in same year as Final Destination.
The writers were obviously having fun with this film. Kellie also left a copy of Final Destination 2, which from the blurb is more a "remake" than a sequel, in the same way that Butterfly Effect 2 was. Might wait a day or two before watching that. I liked this film, it's well made, but it looks like the sort of thing I'd dream about!
PS: I found out that one of the surviving characters dies by the start of the next film. When I discovered this, I immediately thought of the term "Bus Crash" from the TV Tropes WIKI. Guess that left a big impression on me.
