Finally - some PC satisfaction (for now)

Well, I finally did the sensible thing as regards the video adapter that was playing up - I replaced it.
I took out the graphics card in the Linux box that Kali had given me (which was a Micro-Star 4420) and put it in my PC. As I'm not currently using the Linux box, but I am using the PC, I figured that this was a sensible thing to do. Then I downloaded a driver for it, and it worked first time!
Not only that, but after repeated booting, there were no stupid hangs, blank screens or "Windows Protection Errors". Hurray!
I'll worry about a graphics card for the Linux box if and when I get around to using it properly (it's slated to be a e-mail/Internet machine).
Thank the Goddess for that (small mercies at last). One wonders if my car problems might be fixed with a similar solution - that is: either replace the engine as whole, or replace the whole car!
