Induction and Schedules.

I went to a face-face post-grad research induction course yesterday (I missed the earlier one in the year) and learnt a lot that didn't know. One of the speakers was an research student  who was telling his own story and passing on tips. One of those was "treat the research like a job" which implied two things - schedule activities, and schedule "time out".

See, I haven't had much of a schedule so far and I think that's been a problem because when I have taken time-out (and I've taken a lot) I've felt guilt about it. If I had a schedule (and stuck to it) maybe that wouldn't be such an issue.
