Meeting an old friend

Remember when I went to uni last month and bumped into Helen? Well we said we'd catch up with each other and we did yesterday. I was getting out at Wallsend when she got on, so I did an about face and we chatted on the bus on the way to Edgeworth.

I needed to do some shopping and did that at the Oasis, and someone she knew gave us a lift back to her flat. I stayed for dinner, which was light fare (she has Diabetes II) and it was good to catch up with her and chat about things. Apparently the thing she misses most living by herself is having meals with others. I really needed just to do this. It's the first time I just sat down and chatted with someone (not a counsellor) since Jenny died.

I might drop in a bit more, as her flat (very very roomy for one person) is only a little over 2km away and more or less on the bus route. Plus, she's going to university to finish her degree, so we might bump into each other anyway.
