www.dreamwidth.org They have an awesome diversity statement. And all their business stuff is completely transparent. They have really great policies on making sure everything works well with things like screen readers and for people who need light text on dark or dark text on light etc. And they are always getting feedback from people about their stuff and then changing things accordingly. They keep doing stuff right where LJ keeps doing it wrong.
You either need a code or to pay for an account to get one but they hand out codes all the time. I have a few spare if you decide you want one.
I much prefer LJ to Facebook, personally. I always read all my 'Friends' posts, although I don't comment that often. I've had the same feeling recently that I probably have no readers, but I think it's just one of those LJ lulls, and I write largely for myself, anyway.
Or maybe it's that strange thing that happens on a lot of blogs and journals. One pours one's heart out and no one says anything. Then one makes a casual remark about something that seems inconsequential and suddenly a torrent of comment and counter comment pours in!
See, I like to design fjords, and then one day I win an award for it (to misquote Douglas Adams)!
I've been terrible at commenting on things recently. I've been brain foggy and not too well so that's not helped. Also I had no keyboard for the last week and was reduced to the on screen one so I was avoiding the net for a bit. Mainly drawing and sewing and stuff. I'm meant to be making a laptop sleeve for my friend but it's taking 5 times as long as I expected because it's too thick to sew with the machine so I'm having to hand stitch it.
Though comments seem to be down all over in general of late too.
Good luck with the comikazie or how ever you spell it. I was thinking about doing it this year but I have Alisso up for the weekend for my birthday so I think I'll be too drunk and distracted with watching Top Gear and stuff. Maybe next year

Date: 2010-06-10 11:43 pm (UTC)LiveJournal seems to have suddenly gone quiet in the last week or so. Hopefully it's a temporary lull or something, as Facepalm is a poor alternative.

I think one of these may be taken, but try the others if you can't get one to work.
