Shit, still not ready! Fucking great lumps of turd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I stopped in at the mechanics this morning and he said more or less that the car was ready to drive, and after his wife got there at 2 pm I could get a figure of how much it'd cost. So anyway I drive in with Karl (he's a learner driver, he drives and I instruct) and do my TAFE work. At the end of the daywe drive back (Karl lives only a few blocks away).
I walk in and find the car halfway in the shop with the bonnet up. Not good. Apparently it was still backfiring on some tests (gasp - what). He still wouldn't commit himsel, and give me a figure!
Anyway, I wait, and Karl waits (in his car) and they take the car out for another test. This is driving it up mount Sugar Loaf -- not an easy drive for her at the best of times. As the car leaves I see a double rainbow. A good sign (I hope).
I read a book. Eventuially the asisstant returns and, no, there was no backfire. However, they still work on it, and I wait, chatting to the wife, who apparently just types in what her husband tells her for the bills. Went out to the shop and he tells me that one of teh coils has partially failed, and has been causing the backfires, and he's been trying to get a replacement. I decided to go home, and he'll get it tomorrow.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
So here I am, still waiting for the car. It's five weeks today since it first backfired. No committments, no figure. I've been "holding my breath" all that time, left up in teh air with bills and not knowing what to pay and what not. Argh.
Tonight, I plan on doing that candle magic. It might make a difference. Every time in the past that I've used it, I've had good results. This time around I want a working car that I can pay for. That's all. And in the meantime, short of going somewhere and machine gunning down innocents in the street (I'm sure I could find some) I don't have much satisfaction.
* Sigh *
Tomorrow, I'm not going to TAFE -- I'm going straight to the mechanic's and wait until it's done.
Wish me luck?
