Killer Drake

laura_seabrookI caught one on my drakes holding a dead duckling in its beak this morning. Now I know that it wasn't trying to cuddle it -- that's not how Drakes act, I know that it killed it. I lost my temper, let the other duck out and chased it with a stick. I was fully prepared to kill him, even though it is Mongo, a favourite.
In the end I calmed down. I caught Mongo and put in in the other pen, isolating him. Later I put a black tag on his leg. When it comes time to give away some of the flock, he'll be included.
Duckling count is now down to 14.
