TV Addiction
Sep. 27th, 2005 07:39 amFelt so tired last night. I dozed off watching re-runs of South Park, and woke up just as it ended. I decided to go to bed and taped 2 hours of SBS just so I wouldn't miss Drawn Together and Queer as Folk.. When I woke up at 3:30am, I couldn't get back to sleep again so I watched them before "officially getting up" (that is, starting the daily routine) at 6am.
Drawn Together is so funny - I love the mix of characters they have. In the episode I saw, the princess revealed her dread secret - her vagina was cursed to be an "octopussy" monster. Loved how they mixed in parodies of various "reality shows" and also Shrek when she tries to lift the curse by finding "Mr Right".
Queer As Folk seems in top form with the first episode of the new season - Brian takes on Babylon, and Justin is stuck in L.A. (wait 'til the shit hits the fan between him and Brian). Ben and Michael thinking of moving house (10 to 1 that it's all a plot so that the folk there can get to their son), and Lindsay and Melanie had to announce that they've separated (but I'm sure they'll be back together by the end of the season). I've heard that this is the final season, but I'm sure it'll all get sorted out by the end of the season.
You can tell I'm hooked, right? I don't watch too many soaps, but QAF is one of them. About the only other good stuff currently on TV worth watching for me, is Ghost in the Shell on SBS Thursday nights, and whatever other Japanese animation they send our way (something on this Wednesday night.
An Almost Day
Sep. 19th, 2005 11:38 pmI almost went out today, and I almost did some work on my Honours. Instead I had a minor accident.
I slipped on the grass down the slope near the the back of house. I went straight back and winded myself, and then hit the back of my head. I was lucky it wasn't on the concrete path. I had a bit of a headache all day, and seemed to pass out once or twice while reading in the backyard. Maybe that last should be alarming, for me it just meant that i was really tired, after yesterday.
Late in the day, I fed the pets and went over to Jenny's. The plan was to watch a DVD there and then go on to the Cambridge where Katja's (_blubloo_) birthday bash was. In any event we ended up watching a different film (North, about a boy who wants to choose new parents), and I fell asleep once or twice, and then got distracted by an animated show on SBS called "Drawn Together" (a really "Ren & Stimpy" funny take on cartoons). By the time it finished it was 9:30pm. Katja's bash was supposed to start at 7pm, and I didn't know that if I went to the Cambridge, that it'd still be there.
That, and that it was a raining, and I was really tired, and still down with the flu, meant that I almost got there, but went home instead.
When I got home I was feeling a bit frustrated, couldn't get to sleep, so I watched the last episode of the previous season of Queer as Folk. Last time I tried to watch this, the video tape I'd taped it with cut off just after Brian passes the finish line. After seeing the rest of the episode, it seemed about sorting out a few loose ends and setting things up for the next season, which starts next week.
Wouldn't know that I'm a QAF fan, would you?
