This is my contribution to the current Bulk Waste Pick Up. Everything I put out today and last Sunday. Today's the due date, but normally it doesn't officially get picked up until the Thursday after, but anyone can (and does) come along to scavenge stuff.

This includes: a remnant of an old gate that was here when I moved in late 1997; Old rusty fireplace screen; My old mountain bike, which was always hard to ride and with my dodgy knee I doubt I can any more (I tried to GIVE THIS AWAY last year but it just wouldn't fit in my friend's car); , What was left of a "L-shaped" sofa from a boarder who left over ten years ago; plastic bread and milk cartons scavenged from bush walks; Jenny's old computer which was given to me after she died; some other computer tower, lately used to stand a working tower on so that it would be waist height; a HiFi stereo cabinet (minus stereo, which was transistor powered and went out in the last pick-up); and a speaker box I used as a cat seat near the back fence.

Half of this is already gone! Of course everyone else in the street's put stuff out as well.

I scavenged: a fold-out sofa-bed as a garden sofa; a wooden seat which after painted will make a good garden seat; and a pantry cabinet with its doors ripped off that will make a good bookcase. If I hurry I can swap the books over and chuck out the old bookcase that finally collapsed under the weight it held (cheap construction, I've only owned it for 21 years)!

And I uploaded this video I made yesterday to Youtube.

By the end of the day, I grabbed two cushions suitable for the easy chair, and a monitor and two TVs. The power cables on the monitor and TVs were all cut, but Kevin says that he can fix that.

I figured out that I walked at least 7 km today, mostly with a loaded work trolley. maybe I'm getting that 30 minutes of exercise I need to lose weight. Got to keep this up.

Feel much better today.

Went up Charlton St (and beyond) with my work trolley and reclaimed a number of items from Council Pick-up. I got: two arm chairs (one missing the seat cushion); two patio chairs (one needed the board for the seat replaced); a sofa seat with cushion; and a number of cushions and covers. I got Kevin in on the act. He got an old TV (which "might" be fixed); three bar stools; a fold out table; and a corner display unit. The two arm chairs are going into Kevin's workroom. The rest will be deployed at various points.

I got my exercise today, for sure!
