Frustration

Been so frustrated lately. But, I was watching "Fool for Love" (and episode of Buffy) this morning, and it occurred to me just who I want to lose my virginity to - Spike! Not that I can - he's a fictional character - and James Masters (the actor) isn't the same thing.

But fuck it, Spike is tough, self actuated, but tender as well. I want Spike!

It's been fun watching Buffy & Angel. I've been attempting to watch one episode of Buffy a day, and after season 3, when Angel got his own show, I started watching that as well - Buffy in the Mornings, and Angel at night. And it's paying off. There are cross-overs in seasons 4 / 1 and 5 / 2. I can't wait to see teh Angel tie-in tonight.

I was on my way to the stock feeders at Westies (while on the way to the Uni) this morning when the Rauni had a blow-out / backfire. I used to get these all the time, until about this time last year when she was in at the mechanic's for five weeks. They swapped over the air-filter system that was in there, with something that looked like a racing system.

I was upset at the cost at the time - I was quoted $330 and it cost $770 - but since then the few backfires she's had haven't been serious. It was the same today. I expected the worst, but she just drove on as though nothing had happened! After stopping at the stock feeders, I checked the engine - couldn't see any damage. Afterwards she ran a little shakily, but not as bad as she used to. I might have a service done when I can afford it.

At the stock feeders I left an advert on a file card that read:

Free
Mature
Muscovy
Drakes

to good home
phone NUMBER
------------------
if no answer
phone again

There should be some response to that. I'm sure I'll find a new home for them soon.

In a weird system, whereby I print (or reprint) Hypergraphias in reverse order, I've just run off 25 copies of number 5. This issue has never been printed before - it was part 2 to Hypergraphia #4's Part 1. Next on the reprint sweep is issue 4, which will be in a fortnight's time, and just before This Is Not Art and the Zine Fair.

Issue 5 was a "double header" in which it had two covers - One Pagan, and the other SubGenius. It is also formatted landscape instead of portrait, though in practice printing and collating this via a photocopier is a pain in the bum. I have heaps of collage in this one, and at 44 pages was really happy to finally get the bugger printed.

It's a funny thing too. Issue 4 is a photo-comic (or "fumetti") which has my "ba" go on an allegorical journey through my soulscape, while my "ka" remains sleeping in real time. At the end of issue 4, my ba is waiting in the "land of forms", not yet reunited with my ka. At the time, I was glad to get the issue done, and it was the project for my final unit of my Bachelor's in Visual Arts. However, thereafter I had a certain degree of restlessness, that stayed with me until (almost a year later) I drew Part 2, where both are finally reunited.

Sounds superstitious doesn't it, though I guess the allegorical journey was real enough for me at the time. Just one more self-examination in my life.

Pegasus seemed a bit better this morning, so I didn't take him to the vets. I'll try taking him for a walk tonight, but only to the chips shop at the end of the street and back (and no, I won't be buying any chips). It may just be the cold, wet weather.

With the disaster in New Orleans, I was curious as to whether Anne Rice got out OK or not. Now that I've seen http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/04/opinion/04rice.html, I know she did.
