I felt totally fucked yesterday when I got home with Bobby, and spent most of the rest of the night in bed with a very sore right leg and chest pains. Probably just stress and bad posture (the pains that is, not the sore leg) but - I also felt very angry at myself. The artwork I made, entitled "Our Differences make us the same" was only created because I was asked by someone I felt I couldn't say NO to.

Don't get me wrong, I think the work's good (photos later) BUT, I was asked for something at very short notice, and it's taken up almost a whole week. That's time I should be spending on preparing for my confirmation. True, I already had a week with Cathy while she was over here where I got nothing done. And the week after I was just exhausted and distracted, so that's two weeks where I made no progress (though in no way do I begrudge Cathy's visit - it was great to see her again). But this was another week where I haven't created more pages for the graphic novels, haven't written scripts.

VERY ANGRY WITH MYSELF FOR NOT SAYING NO.

Today my chest is still hurting and my leg still aches, and I have to go out anyway because I'm running out of food and I have to sort out a new debit card (yesterday I discovered that my old one had expired). Arggggh!!!

Once again sick and tired of Facebook changing and imposing shit on their users without either consultation or choice.

Have decided to dismantle my current Facebook account. I have tried to just get off it before but it's too good for some things, and I feel the need to keep my artist's page there. So, I need to find out just how I can do that, but lose the main account.
laura_seabrook: (tired)

Everything is getting to me just now. Thought I could go out and cool off by watching a film, but everything on locally is just totally uninteresting. Humidity is is a constant irritant, and I am STILL angry at the pups and K & M for not training them more. If I go out I will be hot and sweaty and tired and cranky. If I stay home I will probably be the same.

I miss Jenny. She was someone I could visit and just be with, without excuses or questions and mostly I could just chill out.

I abandoned my morning pages yesterday after two pages, because the pups escaped and had to be rounded up.

NOT HAPPY this morning - have been so frustrated with escaping pups FIRST THING in the morning, and having to spend 20 minutes repairing a fence line BEFORE doing anything else (including my morning pages, which then became full of "F*CK YOU!" scribblings).

Not good - K&M have been away for over a week while a) their pups were recovering from PARVO and b) their mother Hallie was ON HEAT. I've been left holding the bag without a choice in the matter.

F*CK THIS FOR A JOKE - I couldn't even get to my affirmations! Evil or Very Mad

From TVFix:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is pretty sure who would win in a fight between his hunky vamp Angel (David Boreanaz) and Twilight hero Edward Cullen.

"Angel would kick the s**t out of him. He's Angelus," Whedon told MTV. "[Edward] just gets shiny in the sun. Boreanaz would have him down in a heartbeat."

Whedon added that he thinks Robert Pattinson, the actor who plays Edward in the Twilight movies, is "really cool" — perhaps to ensure that thousands of angry Twihards don't come chasing after him with pitchforks and torches.

Whedon, who first paired up Angel with Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) in 1997, said that he's stunned that vampire romances have taken over pop culture in recent years.

"I don't get this whole vampire romance thing. I mean that could never happen... it seems so stupid," he said. "I literally thought that when I created the character of Angel. I thought a vampire romance with a slayer ... people are going to laugh me out of the room. They'll never go for it."

"Clearly I was wrong," he admitted.

laughingHa ha ha - I'm a big fan of Buffy and Angel, but what a wank for Whedon to say this. And next we'll see how they compare to Barnabas Collins and Nick Knight, shall we? Personally I think Akasha would take them all out...

More use of filler - Network TEN are showing an episode of Angel tonight after the AFL, at 11pm. Might be the start of the series too, but it's hard to tell.

From CBC News:

Andy Hallett, who portrayed a charming, karaoke-singing demon on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off show Angel, has died at the age of 33.

Hallett was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles on Sunday after suffering breathing problems. He died there, following a five-year battle with congestive heart disease, his agent, Pat Brady, said Tuesday.

Born in Osterville, Mass., Hallett moved to Los Angeles at the age of 23. He worked as a messenger at a talent agency and eventually scored a job as an assistant to the wife of Buffy and Angel creator Joss Whedon.

After seeing Hallett perform karaoke, Whedon asked the lanky young man to audition for a new character on Angel, which starred David Boreanaz as the titular brooding vampire with a soul.

Described by his father as "a very gregarious, happy young man," Hallett became a fan favourite on the show as Lorne, the red-horned, green-skinned, lounge lizard-inspired owner of a demon karaoke bar.

Lorne, who could deduce elements of the future for those he heard sing, soon joined Angel 's group of do-gooders. The show ended in 2004.

According to Brady, Hallett was diagnosed with his heart condition as the show came to an end and had been in and out of hospital over the past five years.

The actor is survived by his parents, Dave and Lori Hallett.

A few weeks ago I read part one of the comic series Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight, which finally found its way into the local library. Not a bad effort. the writing was slightly better than the average Buffy comic and it took the characters in interesting directions (when will they get parts 2 and 3?).

Anyway, I just discovered that there's also an Angel: After the Fall comic series as well, which follows on from the last episode. Hmmm, I think I know what I'll put a request in for next.

Apparently both are supposed to be "canon", meaning that they're accepted by "official" sources as part of the continuity of the series. Most of the time (unless it's the Star Wars universe) comics based on TV shows are merchandise, rather than canon, because either a) no major changes (or ones that that changed back) happen to any major characters in such stories, and b) they seldom have any effect on the main story's continuity. Of course both these comics take place after the TV shows, and they're not making more of either, so I guess that gives the writers free reign to do what they like (though please, no Canon Defilement or Reset Buttons like the  One More Day hash in Spiderman).

Hmmm .

Frustration

Been so frustrated lately. But, I was watching "Fool for Love" (and episode of Buffy) this morning, and it occurred to me just who I want to lose my virginity to - Spike! Not that I can - he's a fictional character - and James Masters (the actor) isn't the same thing.

But fuck it, Spike is tough, self actuated, but tender as well. I want Spike!

It's been fun watching Buffy & Angel. I've been attempting to watch one episode of Buffy a day, and after season 3, when Angel got his own show, I started watching that as well - Buffy in the Mornings, and Angel at night. And it's paying off. There are cross-overs in seasons 4 / 1 and 5 / 2. I can't wait to see teh Angel tie-in tonight.
