BBQ Tomorrow

The Queer Collective are going to hold a BBQ tomorrow at Bar on the Hill starting 6pm.

Rather than moan the fact that a) I have a mandatory seminar between 4-6pm and b) my last sugar valley bus leaves from the uni at 6:05pm, I'm going to try something different. I'll ride my bicycle to the NIB Dental Clinic and lock it up like I used to do with the electric Scooter I had (right behind what was the BP service station but is now becoming a Coles + service station). I'll go to the BBQ straight from the seminar and catch a 226 back later to the stop near the crossroads and then ride it home.

Might work, maybe. I'm really overweight and unfit. Maybe doing this regularly, might be better for me (and certainly a little more convenient than walking 8.9 km home after a late night). I bought new head and tail lights for the bike on the way home today, just to make sure I'll be seen (both are LED based, so they should last ages).

Part 1 done

Installed the new lights on the bicycle, rode it to the Crossroads and caught my bus in. Hot and sweaty for a while but this is the university and no one's really bothered by that. Popped into NUSA and met one of the techies there who lent me the Ubuntu 8.10 distro (desktop) DVD. Cool stuff.

I have my seminar in an hours time,, and after that I'm off to the QC BBQ. :)

Feel a lot better just right now. Maybe because maybe this will work, and I'll have a social life off-line once more
