You know, I couldn't help think how ironic things are, what with the way that David Hicks pleaded guilty, and how the British troops that were captured by Iran admitted their guilt.

Both seem to have gone the easy road for a "quick release" (though David Hicks has already been confined for a while). The techniques mentioned in the press conference I saw earlier today, seem to match the sort of crap that has been reported from Guantanamo Bay.

What's the difference?

Obviously there are a few.

The media in its incompetent and unmeasured way paints Hicks as necessarily actually guilty of course, as if there was a real trial.

This does not surprise me.

"What's the difference?"

The soldiers had a government that wanted them back?
