I went down to Sydney last Wednesday, returning late Thursday.

It was a good trip. I did some window shopping in Strathfield, Ashfield, and Newtown. Then I met _blubloo_ and we had Turkish food for dinner before going to the Amnesty post-Mardi Gras DVD Viewing Party at Amnesty International. They were showing photos from the night, and also a short documentary (8 minutes) about the march.

I took samples of my trans tarot deck down with me and had some response. It seems I may have volunteered to do a regular comic for their newsletter! Generally that was a good event although Katja was slightly upset by some comments on Goths made by one or two people there.

Afterwards we went to the "Dyke Night" at the Sly Fox in Enmore. It was OK. I had more fun than the last time I was there. I drank a bit, chatted with people I knew (surprise!) and danced some. A drunk named Drew tried to pick me up and then (before he was bounced) he tried to pick up the other women there! Considering that this was a "lesbian night" he didn't stand much of a chance.

Later we crashed at a friend's place. We watched an episode of The L Word and one of the house mates there surprised us with "SURPRISE PRAWN CRACKERS" (see photo below).

Next morning we left and walked to Katja's (and also bendiviolet and skirt_boy's) place. Allan was away at the time and we caught Nico on her way out to work. Spent the rest of the morning having breakfast, chatting, and chilling out. I spent some time watching SF on Foxtel, and then I left.

Didn't get home until about 7pm that day. It was a long trip back, including grumpy sleeping (and shoeless) people complaining about cheery schoolgirls. I had a bath, some pizza, and went to bed.

A good trip.
